Super S/S Leica M3 version 3 (1960)
Serial number 1000 449This version 3, single stroke, M3 is in superb condition. It is among the earliest > 1,000,000 single strokes beginning a monumental design that would remain almost unchanged for the next eight years. It features the dual dot rewind, the hollow film counter triangle and newer shutter speed sequence appropriate to this model. The shutter speeds are all good (as measured with a Kyoritsu EF-500b shutter analyzer). The rangefinder is bright and clear and perfectly alligned. The self-timer is silky smooth as is the film advance. There is a small piece of Vulcanite missing next to the bottom plate latching pin. For $50 I will recover the body in a new leather skin (see my web page: http://www.fogfeet.com/installation.html ). This will take up to three weeks as the skin must be custom cut for this camera by Aki Asahi in Japan. There is a rather ugly dent repair on one end of the top plate and one very small nick on the top plate behind the word "Germany" but no other dings, scratches or dents. There are a few very light "rubs" on the top plate and a number of them on the bottom plate. The paint is in excellent condition.
